After arresting the driver critical evidence is uncovered that propels the investigation forward. A clandestine workshop filled with 3D printers, large sums of cash with detailed money-laundering instructions. The course challenges students to piece together the laundering operation’s flow of funds, decode the intentions behind the 3D blueprints, and use mobile data to track the female suspect's whereabouts. Each stage of the investigation builds real-world analytical skills, bringing math and problem-solving into an exciting context of international intrigue and strategy.
Crash after Police pursuit

step into the world of police surveillance and uncover surveillance tactics used to track criminal networks? "Into the Dragon's Mouth" invites you to apply your mathematical knowledge and think like a detective to solve this case

The Case:
In this investigation, students will apply percentages, linear graphs, proportion and loci principles to analyze critical data. Using mobile phone mast data and financial records related to money laundering, students will triangulate the location of the female suspect based on her phone signal. Additionally, they will calculate the flow of laundered money using percentages Once the 3D printer blueprint is completed, students must determine what is being manufactured and its potential use in the broader criminal operation.
